Kelly Jay is an artist and designer. Kelly’s philosophy is shaped by her love of storytelling and decoration. Her work is often inspired by her British, Indian and Caribbean heritage. Working from her home studio in between city and nature in Wiltshire, England.
Kelly’s original artwork is predominately made on handmade cotton rag paper that is made in India. This beautiful paper has an imperfect deckled edge finish, which looks brilliant when float mounted in a frame. Kelly chose this material to work on as it felt like another connection to her Indian heritage. Her decorative and joyful works in Gouache, Acrylic and Inks compliment the tactile nature of the paper.
