In October 2023, The Calico Club affiliated with House & Garden, teamed up with United In Design to launch a design competition.

I am happy to share that I was selected as one of four winners.

For the design of the wallpaper, I first created gouache paintings on cotton rag paper which I then edited using Adobe Photoshop. My work is often quite playful and decorative and I think this design is an ode to that idea.

The design came from imagining a story set in a dream-like world. It features characters, patterns and symbols inspired by Indian and Afro-Caribbean folktales.
